My Father and His Father's Cello at Academy Art Museum until March 20, 2021

I'm posting an image of this painting again, first of all, because my dad has been in the hospital for more than two weeks now. He, and the health professionals caring for him, are battling several serious issues. I don't know if it is good timing or bad timing that I chose to submit this painting to the Instructor's Exhibit at the Academy Art Museum.  It is probably good timing, because during his time of deepest unhappiness and suffering there is this reminder that there were moments of the greatest peace and contentment, blessing after blessing, and that those moments are still possible. A life is not just one moment, not always happy, not always painful. That's worth remembering. For everything there is a season.
This painting will be viewable at the Academy Art Museum until March 20, along with the wonderful work of the other instructors there.
Friday, February 19 there will be a virtual happy hour, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and the instructors will talk briefly about their works. I will not be participating in that. I have said what I want to say about the painting in a blog post on my website. I encourage everyone to sign up on the AAM website and hear what these creators have to say and see their work (or go see it in person). I'm sorry I'm not up to doing that with this particular painting.
